Dwight Lyman Crenshaw was born August 19,1947 in Bonham, Texas to Louis and Leona Chester Crenshaw. He passed away peacefully at his home in Lubbock, Texas on June 13, 2017.
Dwight graduated from Tatum High School and attended MCMurry University in Abilene, Texas where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He received a Master's Degree from Eastern New Mexico University and did post graduate work at Northern Colorado University in Greeley.
Dwight was a coach and educator in both Hobbs and Clovis, New Mexico. His career took a new direction when he became employed by the XOM corporation where we worked for 28 years. Upon retirement, he was elected Magistrate Judge of Lea County, New Mexico. Dwight was an active member and lay leader of Tatum United Methodist Church.
Dwight was proceeded in death by his father, the reverend Louis Crenshaw on April 24, 2009. He is survived by his mother, Leona Crenshaw of the home; a sister, Helene Caton and a brother-in-law, Bobby Caton of Champaign, Illinois; a niece, Kellee Caton and her husband, David Hill of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada; and a grandniece, Zella Fern Caton Hill of Kamloops, British Columbia. He is survived by 7 beloved cousins and many friends whom he cherished.
Services will be held at the Tatum First United Methodist Church on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 11:00AM and interment will follow at the Tatum Cemetery beside his father. Arrangements are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home in Lovington N.M.
