I served in the Army.

Robert (Bob) William Boyd Jr., 94, passed away on Sunday, November 12th at the Lovington Good Samaritan Center with family at his side. He was born August 14, 1923 in Tankersley, Texas to Robert William Boyd and Esther Belle Dyess Boyd.
Bob served in the Army Air Corps during WWII from 1942 to 1946 serving in Puerto Rico and Colorado acting as Aerial gunnery instructor.
He moved to Lovington in 1950 with his wife, Mona and infant son Randy and started farming at that time. Eventually forming Boyd Brothers dairy with family. He worked hard and was always respectful and fair with those who worked for and with him.
Bob Boyd was a truly good man. He was faithful in marriage, very generous, honest, kind, loving and had a terrific sense of humor. He was a joy to be around throughout his journey here on earth.
Bob was preceded in death by Mona in 2003 . He was reunited with his childhood sweetheart Ansa Lane in 2004 and found love again. They married in 2004, when Bob was 81 and Ansa a young 80. It was a truly happy marriage and united both their families.
Bob is survived by his wife of 13 years, Ansa Lane Boyd, two children, Randy Boyd, and Kathleen Boyd Whalen, and one granddaughter, Rebecca Boyd, one brother John Boyd, two nephews Lee Boyd (Nanci) and Scot Boyd (Melissa) and their children.
