Funeral Services for Leopoldo Solorzano, 79, and Efrain Parra Solorzano, 40, both of Lovington, NM will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 with a 6:00 pm prayer service officiated by Ty Bean, Pastor of Cowboy Junction Church and a 7:00 pm Rosary at Stevens Funeral Home. The mass will be on Wednesday at 1:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church and burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery.
Leopoldo was born in Canones, GTO, Mexico on January 27,1938 to Vicente and Maria Solorzano and Efrain was born in Hobbs, NM on March 1,1977 to Leopoldo and Hermelinda Solorzano and they entered Heaven's gate together on December 14, 2017, together, just as they worked together. Leopoldo had been in Lovington sixty plus years and was a very hard worker, a rancher, a people person and a very generous man. He taught his children good work ethics and was a strong family leader. He liked working and would work every day, even weekends. He loved sweets and loved his family.
Efrain attended school and graduated from Lovington High School in 1997. He was a very humble, kind and patient man with a good heart and was the epitome of a good husband and father. He enjoyed cooking out and cooked enough for three families when he barbecued. His joy in life was being with his family and he loved doing things with his kids. He was a homebody. He had a beautiful smile and was lovingly called "Colgate" by many who knew him and saw his smile.
Leopoldo was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Eudalia H. Solorzano and his son: Efrain Solorzano. Efrain was preceded in death by his father: Leopoldo Solorzano.
Surviving Leopoldo is his wife of forty- five years, Hermelinda Solorzano of Lovington; five children: Vicente and wife Patricia Solorzano of Bakersfield, CA, Jerry and wife Adela Solorzano of Hobbs, NM, Lupe and husband Ediberto Cuevas of Mundaline,ILL.; Christy Solorzano of Lovington and Oliver and wife Anita Solorzano of Lovington. Also, 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Surviving Efrain is his wife, Jennifer Caudillo of the home; four children: Maleia Caudillo, Elias Solorzano, Asia Caudillo and Silas Caudillo all of Lovington; His mother: Hermelinda Solorzano of Lovington .
